This August, Veterans in Sefton was delighted to organise a special trip to Scotland for 7 veterans, providing an opportunity to get away, explore some fantastic locations and enjoy time together in the great outdoors.
The trip included visits to Oban, Spean Bridge and the Commando Memorial, Glenfinnan Viaduct, and the Glencoe Monument. Alongside the opportunity to see some of Scotland’s most memorable landscapes and landmarks, the trip provided time for veterans to connect, share experiences and enjoy each other’s company.
One of the veterans who took part said:
“how glorious is this, breathing this fresh air surrounded by my friends”

Trips like this are an important part of the wider support offered by Veterans in Sefton. They provide opportunities to reduce isolation, build confidence, strengthen friendships and create positive memories together. Our approach is centred on early intervention, holistic support and creating lasting connections within the Armed Forces community.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to The Rucksack Club for allowing us to use their facilities and helping to make the trip possible.

We would also like to thank the Veterans’ Foundation for their funding and continued support of the ViS Mountain Hut programme. This support helps us provide valuable opportunities for veterans and families to spend time away, connect with others and experience activities that contribute to their wellbeing.
At Veterans in Sefton, we arrange a number of activities and opportunities throughout the year for veterans, serving personnel, reservists, families and dependants.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us through the Veterans in Sefton website or call our offices on 0151 933 0800.
Supporting those who served and strengthening our community together.
